An exhibition piece highlighting wedding waste.
Traditional weddings have been romanticized for their lavishness to the point of overconsumption—the average wedding produces 400 pounds of trash and 63 tons of carbon dioxide. With an estimated 2.5 million weddings a year in the United States, that’s 1 billion pounds of trash and 160 billion pounds of carbon dioxide. This project calls attention to the importance of waste reduction and environmental consciousness, especially around large events like weddings.
