Variable Objects

A brand rethinking furniture as an evolving kit of parts.
The intention behind our project is to design a furniture brand as an interactive system, focused on aspects of interchangeability, abstracting the purpose of furniture, and retaining the potential for deconstruction and evolution. We are catering to apartment renters with limited space, a younger generation of frequent movers, and those carrying an interest in utility and “Maker Culture”. We want our product to help start conversations focused on consumer responsibility, and encourage an individual's innate sense of creativity while adapting to changing situations.
