The Pandemic of Fake News
Transforming media literacy education for young audiences
Misinformation runs rampant in the age of social media. Teenagers are vulnerable to the dangers of misinformation as soon as they start experiencing the complex online media landscape. They are plunged into a labyrinth of information that can be impossible to navigate at times while receiving very little media literacy education from school and home. It is important to armor them with both the essential skills and appropriate attitudes towards fighting fake news. “The Pandemic of Fake News” is an exhibition that aims to turn the traditional digital and textual media literacy education into multisensory experiences that encourage teenagers to continue educating themselves and become the antibody to the pandemic of fake news.
