Paul Smith: Vehicle Resident
A closer look at vehicle residents and how Seattle parking ordinances are affecting them.
This infographic was created to address the growing homelessness in the city of Seattle. Vehicle residents are typically experiencing homelessness for the first time, and housing themselves in their vehicles as a last resort. According a Seattle/King County survey conducted on January 25, 2019, there were 2,147 individuals living in their vehicles due to homelessness. This is 19% of the overall homelessness population, and 41% of individuals who are unsheltered.
