Ninajirachi's debut album I Love My Computer pulls from trance and electroclash as an ode to tech-inspired gen z childhoods, when laptops and iPods shaped who we became. For a generation whose memories are steeped in the glow of a screen, the album lands as both document and anthem. Nina carries herself over the wave of nostalgia without being lost, making something unmistakably her own. That is what I sought to accomplish with GIRL EDM: something unmistakably Kaia. I love music, fashion, and design, and I hate the confines of the designer's experience, clouded by capitalist limitations and the feeling that creating with less makes me less of a designer.

GIRL EDM merch is the first step into my own realm of art and design where the only rule is to be myself. Literally referencing Nina's source material, obsolete chargers and broken iPods collected from recycled stores and secondhand sellers form the base of the collection. Fur fabric was my natural instinct to lean into the obscure, making something artificial feel natural.

The ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ hat and bag feature a mini polka dot lined pocket with a 30-pin charger for iPods with faulty batteries, and transforms into a bag for the girls that can't decide. The wired booties and keyboard purse were inspired by Nina's personal style, emphasizing loud and bold pieces, while the cordable charger was the result of six weeks of material experiments attempting to make used cords look intentional and meaningful.
