Blurred Horizons

A publication exploring the friction and the transformation of meaning that occurs between translations of different languages. This 100 page, french folded, and Japanese bound publication explores the Korean and English language, through the Korean poem, “Horizon” written by Kim Hyesoon. It features five different translators who each offer a different English translation. Each of these chapters opens with a visual or typographic illustration of a single stanza, to illustrate visually, conceptually, or typographically, the loss of information, language, or culture through the process of translation.
